Rear Compartment Panel Frame Replacement
Removal Procedure
The rear compartment frame is made of sheet molded compound (SMC), and is bonded to the rear structure with structural adhesive.

1.
Disable the SIR system. Refer to
SIR Disabling and Enabling
.
2.
Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to
Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection
.
3.
Remove all related panels and components.
4.
Remove the rear compartment frame by applying heat to the panel being replaced to detach the adhesive along the bonding surface. Use care not to
damage the SMC panel below.
