SECTION 1 - GENERAL INFORMATION AND SAFETY
1ï6
Transporting the baler
1. Before transporting the baler on a public road:
• Remove the pick-up wheels and store them
in the appropriate location, where the width of
the baler with the wheels installed exceeds
the legal maximum.
• Raise and secure the pick-up to the highest
position. Release the hydraulic pressure from
the lift cylinder.
• Engage the flywheel brake.
• Lock the needle yoke.
• Raise the bale chute to close the bale
chamber.
2. When travelling on public roads, always observe
highway code regulations.
3. Never travel at speed in crowded areas.
4. Keep the towing speed down to 40 km/h or less
depending on local road transport legal
regulations.
5. The towing speed must not exceed the limit
determined by local legislation.
6. If allowed in your country use the rotating amber
traffic warning beacons of both tractor and baler,
to indicate the vehicle has abnormal size and is
slow-moving.
7. Always use safety signals or adequate lights
when travelling with the machine on a public
highway. Check with the authorities for specific
requirements.
8. Avoid making turns at high speed.
9. When manoeuvring the baler, always be aware
of its size.
Field operation
1. Do not work around the machine wearing loose
garments that could get caught in the moving
parts. Check that all rotating parts connected to
the PTO shaft are properly guarded.
2. Avoid using the machine in unsuitable crop and
weather conditions. It is better to stop work
temporarily rather than operating in such
conditions.
3. Prior to operating the baler check that all guards
and covers provided are properly fitted and
secured. Also make sure that all transmission
parts are correctly guarded.
4. Do not attempt to operate or manoeuvre the
baler, unless sitting in the tractor seat.
5. Never allow anyone to ride on the machine or the
tractor.
