When a medication has the Override option activated on the
Formulary Options tab, a witness is required (profile mode only).
•
Assign/Load Access
—Allows you to select a pocket for a medication and
to place the medication physically into that pocket. This option does not
apply to MiniDrawers.
•
Add Temporary Patients
—Allows you to process items for a patient
who is not in the station’s patient database (typically occurs because ADT
is behind or if the patient is visiting from another unit).
•
Independent Inventory Control
—Allows an inventory count without a
witness. You can recover a failed drawer and conduct the subsequent
inventory of that drawer without a witness, assuming you have access to
all medication security groups of the medications in that drawer.
•
Independent Discrepancy Documentation
—Allows you to document
discrepancies at the station without a witness. Otherwise, all discrepancy
resolutions require a witness. You must have access to the discrepancy
medication’s security group to document the discrepancy.
•
Independent Load
—Allows you to load a medication that requires Rx
Check without having another user check the medication.
•
Independent Refill
—Allows you to refill a medication that requires Rx
Check without having another user check the medication.
•
Unload Standard Stock
—Standard functionality prohibits you from
unloading a standard stock item by filtering them out of the Unload list
unless another item is pending to replace it or you have this privilege.
•
CD ROM Access
—Allows access to the CD-ROM, which can also play
music CDs. You can connect head phones or small speakers directly to the
CD player. The CD stops when you log out of the system. (This option
applies to Pyxis Anesthesia System.)
•
My Items
—Allows you to maintain a virtual remote stock of items
necessary for administering medications to patients. You select items to
remove from the loaded items list and physically removes them. The My
Items list displays a list of items removed, along with the removed
quantity of each. The message type for Remove Items is SVU, which
represents “station vend to user” (unique to Pyxis Anesthesia System).
After an item is in the My Items list, it can be issued to a patient,
transferred to another user, returned, or wasted.
