The cartridge holder is
returning to its home
position.
The cartridge holder
cannot move. This is
normally due to a
paper jam.
You opened the printer
cover during an
operation. Also appears
after CHANGE
CARTRIDGE is
displayed.
The printer cover is open
and the cartridge holder
is moving to the center
of the unit.
The document is jammed
in the ADF.
The document feed
lever is set to
m
(manual
document feed) for a
multipage document.
The size of the paper in
the multi-purpose tray
and that specified in the
PAPER SIZE
setting are
different.
There may be an
obstruction that is not
allowing the cartridge
holder mechanism to
move.
Wait until this message no
longer appears before
starting an operation.
Clear the paper jam or
whatever is obstructing the
cartridge holder and then
press Resume. Do not
attempt to move the
cartridge holder manually.
Close the printer cover.
Wait until the cartridge
holder stops, then replace
the BJ cartridge or tanks
(

pp. 12-11, 12-17).
When you are finished,
close the printer cover and
wait for the unit to return to
standby mode.
Remove the document you
are trying to send or copy
(

p. 13-3) and start again.
Set the document feed
lever to
a
(automatic
document feed). (

Load the correct paper size
or change the
PAPER SIZE
setting. (

Check for a paper clip or
other small object. Check
also for a paper jam and
clear the jam if necessary
