CRVW3 3-Channel Vibrating-Wire Datalogger

, for more information on the differences
between the radio options.
The RF451 has the same operating frequency range as the RF407.
However, it has a higher output power. This provides a longer
communication distance, but also requires more power. To
preserve battery power, it may be necessary to only turn the radio
during certain periods of time. See Section
(p. 49)
.
The RF407, RF412, RF422, and RF427 options are all versions of
the same series of radios. This manual will refer to a CRVW3 with
any of these options as the “CRVW3-RF407.” The standalone
radios will be referred to collectively as “RF407.” Throughout the
manual, RF407 can be replaced with RF412, RF422, or RF427,
unless otherwise noted.
This manual refers to using RF451 standalone radio(s) in a
CRVW3-RF451 network. Our older radio model, the RF450, can
also be used with CRVW3-RF451s. The configuration settings are
the same for RF450s and RF451s. See the RF450 manual for more
information on configuring the RF450. Note that the RF450 uses
a different antenna connector than the RF451 (SMA instead of
RPSMA), so antennas are not interchangeable between the two
devices.
Configuration of devices and automated data collection can be performed
remotely using the wireless options.
CRVW3 operation is controlled by software-configured settings made on the
device. No
CRBasic
programming is required. Frequency and temperature
measurements are obtained at the specified measurement interval. Optional
engineering output can be calculated using advanced settings.
Additional information about the CRVW3 can be found on the Campbell
Scientific website:
