CRVW3 3-Channel Vibrating-Wire Datalogger
90
table definitions to
LoggerNet
, enabling you to work with the tables in the
standard way. The main three tables of interest on the CRVW3 are the
VW_Data
table, the
Public
table, and the
Status
table. There is a separate
.DAT file defined in
LoggerNet
(
Setup Screen
) for each table that is enabled
for automatic collection. There is also a table called
CalHist
that stores
calibration information, if that is used on the device.
The
VW_Data
table is the final storage table used by the CRVW3. It is the
permanent repository of measurements made, and includes frequency data and
temperature data (when applicable). If conversion to engineering units is used,
that data is also included. This table should be enabled for automatic collection,
and the data collected from it into a .DAT file should be viewed periodically to
ensure that the collection is working.
You need to collect all the data successfully from a CRVW3 before the
memory space on the CRVW3 becomes full. The CRVW3 uses “ring memory”
which means that the oldest records begin to get overwritten with new records
as soon as the memory storage is filled. The factors that affect the table fill
time are the number of channels being measured, how often measurements are
made, and whether engineering output calculations are used. To check how
long it takes from the time the program starts until the memory fills up as well
as to see how many records it can store, use the
Connect Screen
application’s
Station Status
screen. A tab called
Table Fill Times
will show both the
amount of time it takes (from the time the program started) for the table to fill
up and also how many records can be stored during that time.
Plan the collection interval in your scheduled collection scenario to collect data
from your CRVW3 devices well before any data loss can occur.
The
Reset Tables
button can be used to clear all the records out of a specified
table. If you choose to reset the
VW_Data
table or one of the other tables, do
so only with extreme caution (after having collected and confirmed receipt of
all needed data) to ensure that no data loss occurs.
