NOTE
Risk of damage!
Improper storage can damage the e-bike or its components.
» Observe the storage temperatures for the components of the e-bike
system to avoid damage and functional impairment.
» Observe the storage information in the corresponding manufacturer's
instructions for the e-bike system.
If the e-bike is not used for a longer period of time, the following points
must be observed for storage:
• Clean the e-bike
⇨ section “Cleaning and care” page 173
• Store the e-bike in such a way that it is protected from moisture, dust
and dirt.
• Store the e-bike in a dry room protected from freezing temperatures and
significant fluctuations in temperature.
• To prevent the tyres from becoming deformed, the e-bike should be
stored by hanging it from its frame.
• Store the battery (Bosch e-bike system), charger and any other compo-
nents separately from the e-bike.
Leather care
• If your e-bike is equipped with a Brooks™ leather saddle, please follow
the enclosed care instructions from Brooks™.
• Polish out any residue from care products or waxes completely with a
soft cloth and allow the care product to air off for several hours before
the next ride. Unsuitable products can damage the leather or dissolve
colour pigments and stain your clothes.
Tyres
• To ensure long tyre life, keep the tyre pressure within the recommended
range
⇨ chap. 50 “Tyres” on page 162
. Inspect the tyres regularly
for foreign objects and remove them to prevent further damage. Avoid
strong sunlight during longer storage and check the air pressure regularly.

WARNING
Risk of accident and injury!
If the e-drive is started inadvertently or if children or persons who are
physically or mentally impaired have access to your e-bike, accidents
and serious injuries may result.
»
Bosch e-bike system:
Always remove the battery before parking or storing your e-bike for
an extended period of time.
» Secure and park your e-bike so that unauthorised persons (especially
children) cannot access it.
Transport
NOTE
Risk of damage!
Improper transport can damage your e-bike, its components and
attachments.
» Never transport the e-bike with the handlebars upside down.
» When transporting the e-bike, e.g. in the boot of a car or together
with other bicycles, make sure that no objects or attachments of
other bike components (especially the belt) can damage your e-bike.
» When transporting the e-bike without wheels, the brake levers must
not be operated. Brake pistons can drop out and brake fluid can leak.
Use a transport safety device (fig. 67).
Lithium-ion batteries are subject to the requirements of
hazardous materials legislation. Private users can transport
the separate battery on the road without restrictions. When
shipping individual batteries, regulations on packaging and
labelling must be observed (e.g. ADR regulations on the
transport of hazardous goods).
67
If you transport the e-bike lying sideways or in a position deviating from
the “cycling position,” check whether there are air bubbles in the brake
lines after transport by actuating the brake levers (no defined pressure
point available, longer brake lever travel).
Remedy
1. Place the e-bike upright with the front wheel on a 40-50 cm elevation
so that the brake lever is the highest point of the brake line. Now
actuate the corresponding brake lever several times until the pressure
point is present again.
2. If this does not remedy the situation, the brake system will have to be
bled by a qualified workshop.

Transport by car
!
WARNING
Risk of accident and injury!
Danger can arise for other road users due to incorrectly secured e-bikes
and attachments when transported with a car roof or rear fastening
system.
» Make sure that your car roof or rear mounting system is designed for
the weight of your e-bike.
» Make sure that your car has the permissible roof load or the
permissible drawbar load of the trailer hitch and that it can be used
in conjunction with your car roof or rear fastening system.
» Secure your e-bike properly as specified in the manufacturer's
instructions for your car roof or rear fastening system.
» Check the fastening of the e-bike regularly during breaks in driving to
prevent the e-bike from coming loose.
NOTE
Risk of damage!
The penetration of moisture can damage the e-bike system.
» Leave the battery in its frame.
» Cover e-bike components such as display, battery and motor with
special protective covers (e.g. from manufacturer FAHRER).
