Fig. 76:

Configuration

– Beam Parameters

Beam ID.

64 different satellite Beam ID are configurable on same or different satellites allowing users to
configure and save for easy access.

Modem Beam ID (iDirect & HNS_KU Only)

Modem Beam ID (number) is read directly from the modem that is configured with Dual Beam
coverage or Multiple Beam coverage on iDirect Ku service or HNS Ku service. The DVB
Settings will be read and displayed only on the active Beam. Configure and click FIND SAT on
each beam once to read and display the settings. Once the controller is reset or powered off,
the settings are lost except on the active Beam. To read Modem Beam carrier parameters the
“Read Carrier From modem” must be enabled.

Read Beam

Retrieves beam related information of the selected beam in the Beam ID field, like longitude,
offset, LNB power and associated DVB transponder information, you will get different Beam
information when Beam ID is changed and Read beam button is clicked.

Read Carrier From Modem

Enabled by default, the Satellite search parameters (Longitude, Frequency, Sym Rate, DVB
Mode, Search Mode and RX Polarity) will be automatically read from the modem once
communication is established. Disabling this option will allow the operator to manually configure
the search parameters. If polarity is missing from the iDirect option file an error message will be
triggered notifying the user to uncheck this option and to manually configure the DVB and
longitude settings.
