Conveyor belt (optional)
Check the tension of the corresponding conveyor belt prior to each start-up.
An incorrect tension may damage the conveyor belt.
When properly tensioned, the conveyor belt will have a slack of 3 cm to 5 cm in the
middle. When performing this check, take the ambient temperature into account. In cold
and warm temperatures the conveyor belt will shorten and elongate, respectively.
Use the tensioning screws (Pos. 2 in Fig. 7-19) to align the conveyor belt straight if the
conveyor belt runs askew or grinds against the frame.
Lubricate the three flange bearings on the conveyor belt at least every 25 operating
hours.
7.9.1
Belt connection
Check the conveyor belt and the belt connection (1) of
the conveyor belt for obvious defects on a weekly ba-
sis. Replace the conveyor belt if discovering any dam-
age (cracks, bent-up corners).

7.9.2
Tensioning/aligning the conveyor belt
1. Switch off the machine and secure it against inad-
vertent restarting.
2. Loosen the lock nuts (1) on the tensioning
screws (2) on the right and on the left side of the
conveyor belt.
3. Tighten both tensioning screws (2) evenly
o
until the conveyor belt has a slack of 3 cm to
5 cm in the middle,
o
until the clearance between the flat irons (3) is
the same on both sides of the conveyor belt.
The alignment of the conveyor belt is not
straight unless the clearance is identical on
both sides of the conveyor belt.
4. Re-tighten both lock nuts (1) firmly.
