7.4.1
Gear unit Brevini ECS1512
An oil change requires approx. 18 liters of type
SAE 80/85 oil (API GL5, VG 150). Only perform an oil
change when the oil has reached its operating tempera-
ture. The operating temperature is approx. 30°C-40°C.
1. Switch off the motor and secure against inadvertent
restarting.
2. Place a collecting pan under the gear unit (capacity
approx. 25 liters).
3. Open the lid (4) on the oil tank.
4. Unscrew the oil drain plug (3) on the bottom of the
gear unit.
5. Wait until no more oil runs out of the oil drain screw.
6. Screw in the oil drain plug (3) and firmly tighten it
(use a suitable sealant).
7. Unscrew the plug (2) at the bottom end of the over-
flow pipe (1).
8. Remove the oil hose (6) from the oil tank.
9. Connect the oil hose (6) to the oil pump.
10. Keep filling in gear oil using the oil pump until gear
oil starts running out of the overflow (approx. 18 li-
ters).
11. Screw in the plug (2) and firmly tighten it (use a
suitable sealant).
12. Disconnect the oil pump from the oil hose (6). Cau-
tion Gear oil may flow back out of the oil hose.
13. Connect the oil hose (6) to the oil tank.
14. Fill 0.5 - 1 liters of oil into the oil tank until the oil
level is between the two marks (5).
15. Close the lid (4) on the oil tank.
16. Check the oil level after 5 hours of operation. The
oil level must lie between the two marks (5), refill if
necessary.
