15.Remove the plastic blank on the front panel that corresponds to the slot in which you
have just installed the hard disk drive by performing the following steps:
Warning:
Store the removed plastic blank and screws for possible future re-installation.
CAUTION:
It is recommended to protect any free device slot with the appropriate plastic blank.
This is important for your safety and for the proper functioning of the air cooling
system.
16.Close the device shutter (for details, if needed, see
Device Shutter Closing
, on page 6-5).
17.Perform a system power on (for details, if needed, see
Restart Operations
, on page 6-9).
18.When the operating system is up and running, check that the new device is seen by the
system (
lscfg -pv
command). Refer to the device and operating system documentation
for details on any operation you may need to perform on the new device to have it
working (e.g., install the device driver).
Adding a Disk Cage
Adding a disk cage to the system unit requires some operations which should be performed
by a technician with a good knowledge of the system architecture.

your Service Representative for assistance.
