Vertical adjustment

The vertical adjustment of the magnet rack sets the pressure of the printing pins when making dots.
The amount of pressure needed depend on several things. The first (and most important) is the paper
quality. The second, is the personal preference the of dot quality.
So the best way to find the correct level of vertical adjustment, is to first decrease the pressure so the
dots will be very faded and weak.
Then readjust the pressure up in small steps until the dot quality is satisfactory. By doing this you can
make sure that you are running the printer with just enough pressure to make good dots, but not so
much pressure that the printer will be worn/damaged.
From our experience we have found that the vertical adjustment should be approximately 1 mm, but
if the Braille dots are too weak, you may adjust the magnet rack tighter in small steps (increase the 1
mm distance).
