Table 1: Common Configuration Problems
Voice Setting
There is no sound when a VoIP call is
connected.
•
If your VoIP extension is behind a NAT
firewall you need to configure BOSST101 for
NAT traversal (see
NAT Settings on page
61
).
•
The packet is allowed in through your
router but the outgoing reply is not
authorized to open a port on your router,
and is therefore blocked. Please configure
Port Triggering settings to allow port
forwarding services (see
NAT Settings on
page 61
).
The volume is too low...
•
when talking through an
analog extension.
•
when making a call on an IP
extension.
•
at the called party when a call is
placed from an analog extension.
•
at the called party when a call is
placed from an IP extension.
•
As every phone may differ in specifications
and hardware, it is recommended that you
set the speaker and volume settings for
each phone individually.
•
For analog handsets, see
Edit Handset
Screen (Analog) on page 47
.
•
For IP-based handsets, see
Add/Edit
Handset Screen (SIP) on page 49

Calls do not always reach my voice-
mail.
•
Check that the voice mail memory capacity
is not reached (see
Voice Mail Status on
page 25
).
I hear the busy tone when I try to
access my voicemail.
•
BOSST101 allows four simultaneous
users to retrieve voice mail. If you hear
the busy tone, please try again later.
