14.4 Calibration

As part of service and upkeep (every six months),
on flange replacement or in the event of measure-
ment inaccuracies, it is advisable to calibrate the
WBE 4510 in the following sequence:
1.
Flange calibration.
2.
Vernier caliper calibration.
3.
WBE 4510 calibration.
4.
Perform reference measurement.
14.4.1 Call-up of calibration menu

Press < X > to exit from the calibration menu.
14.4.2 Flange calibration

Follow the instructions shown on the monitor.
1.
Fit the flange (refer to Section 5).

Do not attach the wheel, do not use any clamping
tools.
2.
Start flange calibration in the calibration menu.
Press <
r

> and < OK >.
3.
Press < OK >.
The wheel guard closes automatically.
The unbalance measurement commences auto-
matically.

Flange calibration completed.

Unbalance set to "0".
14.4.3 Electronic vernier caliper calibration

Follow the instructions shown on the monitor.
1.
Start calibration in the calibration menu. Press

> and < OK >.
2.
Set the vernier caliper (B) to the rest position and
press <
OK >.
3.
Extend the vernier caliper (B) to 200 mm, enter this
value and press <
OK >.
4.
Clamp a test wheel in position (ideally 13" or 14").
5.
Enter the wheel diameter and press < OK >.
6.
Apply the vernier caliper (B) to the rim flange and
press <
OK >.
