REGULATION OF THE OPERATING PRESSURE
Pressure regulation is entrusted to the operator who must simply observe the following:
1
– Never exceed the maximum operating pressure of 60 bar even if the nominal productivity
of the watermaker is not reached.
2
– Never exceed the nominal productivity of the watermaker when it is achieved at lower
pressures than 60 Bar
EXPLANATION:
Productivity of the machine is influenced by many factors, including those most important
such as salinity and temperature of the feed water.
In brackish water, with equal operating pressure productivity tends to increase, so it will be
necessary to reduce the pressure in order to not stress the membranes with an excessive
amount of permeate.
With the temperature of the feed water getting down the productivity will also decrease (see
table below) and in this case the operator could increase the operating pressure to the maxi-
mum limit allowed of 60 Bar to get more fresh water. If you exceed the limit the pressure relief
valve will open in order to discharge the overpressure.

To obtain the theoretical amount of water produced at certain temperature of the feed water you
need to divide the productivity of the watermaker for the correction factor. (e.g. 160 l/h at a tempera-
ture of 25 ° C will become 108 l/h at a temperature of 15 °C).
