6. Status and Error Messages for

Network Test Modes

ARP Received

—In Validate Link mode, this status shows

that the tester has detected another active LAN Solution
Network Tester trying to start a PING conversation. This
status flashes for a few seconds while the testers
negotiate an IP address they can use to PING each
other.

DHCP Request

—In the PING test with DHCP On, the

LAN Solution Network Tester displays this message on
the first line while it is trying to get the required
information from a DHCP server. The second line
displays:

Attempt:

Count of DHCP requests sent out. If this
number continues to grow, no response is
being received.

Successful: Shows for a short time after the server

responds to the request.
