which are installed in the same direction as the flue gasses.
7.11. BOILER JOINING TO CHIMNEY
It is mandatory that all boilers in central heating systems are individually connected to a
chimney, with appropriate chimney draught, which is main condition for optimum operation of
the boiler.
The chimney draught has an important effect over the boiler heating output, its efficiency and
life cycle length.
Recommended chimney heights are presented in Table 7.

The presented values are tentative. The chimney draught depends on its section area, height,
inner wall roughness and also the difference between flue gas and outside temperatures. Most
recommended are the isolated chimneys or those with chimney insert. Actual chimney draught
can be measured by authorized installation and servicing company.
