10. The The device, with the stimulation feature, must be used only for
preterm infants. Without the stimulation, the device can be used on all in
-
fants. It must not be used on adults.
11. User must ensure that while placing the stimulator boot on the infants
feet, it should not be too tight or too loose.
12. Device must only be used with the original accessories provided by BEM -
PU.
13. ApneBoot should not be used as a replacement for respiration monitor.
14. Apneboot should not be used on infants with congenital lethal abnormali -
ties or any significant cardiac abnormalities.
15. ApneBoot may be used during defibrillation or electrocautory, but this
may effect the accuracy or display of measurements.
16. Ensure proper placement of sensor probes as indicated in section 2.4.
Improper placement may lead to no or incorrect readings.
17. Place the pulse oximeter sensor probe on a well perfused body site. Low
perfusion at the monitored site may result in incorrect measurement read
-
ings.
18. Do not use ApneBoot on infants injected with dyes or substance contain -
ing dyes. The change in usual blood pigmentation may cause no or incorrect
readings.
19. Inspect the sensor application site at least every 4 hours to ensure correct
sensor alignment and skin integrity.
20. Discontinue use of adhesive tape strips if the patient exhibits an allergic
reaction to the adhesive material.
21. Using other manufacturers’ sensors can result in inaccurate pulse oxime -
ter performance.
22. As with all medical equipment, carefully route cables and connections to
reduce the possibility of entanglement, strangulation, or injury to the patient.
