TYPE
This specifies the type of entry.
TCP/IP: the type is set to TCP/IP.
Novell IPX
IPX_RIP (Routing Information Protocol): entry for a router
IPX_SAP (Service Advertising Protocol): entry for a server
IPX_WS (IPX_Workstation): entry for a workstation.
IPX_RIP and IPX_SAP can be autoconfigured by the
"remote" bridge itself when it learns the locations of servers
and routers on the network. IPX_WS is configured manually
on the bridge at the opposite end of the link to the
workstation which the entry represents.
ScaNet OSI Name Service
Indicates that a named service (see “Address” below) is
available on the remote server accessed via an ISDN
connection (see “Remote unit name” below).
Banyan Vines
Types are BANYANDEF (default Banyan destination),
BANYAN (Banyan server/router), BANYAN_WS or
STREETTALK. Autocalls of type BANYAN and
BANYAN_WS are automatically configured and cannot be
edited. If the bridge receives a STREETTALK broadcast
update, it makes a call to the STREETTALK destination, if
one is configured.
MAC
For protocols not interpreted by the bridge, an autocall can be
made on the MAC address of the destination. This will only
work on protocols which do not have an Address Resolution
phase for session initiation.
