• Red—The average of the red color component, represented as a number from 0 to 255. Fully saturated red is a
[255, 0, 0].
• Green—The average of the green color component, represented as a number from 0 to 255. Fully saturated green is
a [0, 255, 0].
• Blue—The average of the blue color component, represented as a number from 0 to 255. Fully saturated blue is a [0,
0, 255].
• Intensity—The average brightness of a color, represented in a number from 0 (black) to 255 (white).
HSI
Hue, Saturation, and Intensity (HSI) is a representation of color space that is closer to human perception of color dynamics.
The greater the range of colors of the pixels within the ROI, the higher the standard deviation will be. If all pixels are
uniformly the same color, the standard deviation is zero.
For Hue, Saturation, and Intensity (HSI):
• Hue—The wavelength of predominant color. A representation of average hue as an angle in degrees around a circle,
which will always be between 0 and 359: 0 = red, 120 = green, 240 = blue.
• Saturation— The amount of a specific Hue. A representation of average saturation as a distance from the center of
the circle where 0 is the center of the circle (and could include the colors black, white, and gray) and 100 would be
on the very edge of the color map circle. With a higher saturation number, the color represented is more vivid.
• Intensity—The average brightness of a color, represented in a number from 0 (black) to 255 (white).
Pass Color: Red, Green, Blue
Pass Red, Pass Green, and Pass Blue are available when the color space is set to RGBI.
Main Menu > Inspection > Sensors > AvgColor > Pass [Color].
Use the sliders to set the range of color that will pass the inspection. The average of the color component is represented as
a number from 0 to 255.
Pass Hue
Pass Hue is available when the color space is set to HSI.
Main Menu > Inspection > Sensors > AvgColor > Pass Hue
Use the sliders to set the desired hue range. The range is from 0 to 359.
Pass Saturation
Pass Saturation is available when the color space is set to HSI.
Main Menu > Inspection > Sensors > AvgColor > Pass Saturation
Use the sliders to set the desired saturation range. The range is from 0 to 100.
Pass Intensity
Main Menu > Inspection > Sensors > AvgColor > Pass Intensity.
Use the sliders to set the intensity that will pass the inspection. Intensity is the average brightness of a color, represented in
a number from 0 to 255.
Pass Color Standard Deviation: Red, Green, Blue
Pass Red Standard Deviation, Pass Green Standard Deviation, and Pass Blue Standard Deviation are available when the
color space is set to RGBI.
Main Menu > Inspection > Sensors > AvgColor > Pass [Color] Std Dev
Use the sliders to set the range of color standard deviation that will pass the inspection. The standard deviation is
represented as a number from 0 to 128.
Standard deviation tests the variance of color. The greater the range of colors of the pixels within the ROI, the higher the
standard deviation will be. If all pixels are uniformly the same color, the standard deviation will be zero.
Pass Hue Standard Deviation
Pass Hue Standard Deviation is available when the color space is set to HSI.
Main Menu > Inspection > Sensors > AvgColor > Pass Hue Std Dev
