Replace DVD
Handling the DVD unit, 997 & 996
The ESD kit must be used when handling the DVD units.
The cables W77 and W76, connected to DVD mechanism 996, are sensitive to
pick up ESD that can damage the DVD unit.
Replace DVD main chassis (module 997)
Dismount the back cover.
Dismount the upper back cover.
Disconnect all cables connected to module 997. See
23.
Pay special attention to W76 (72P505) & W77 (72P504) due to ESD sensitivity.

Dismount the DVD main chassis.

Remove 4 screws. See
30.

Place the DVD main chassis on the ESD-mat.
Mount the new DVD main chassis.

Fasten the 3 screws.
- Connect the cables to the DVD main chassis.
If W76 & W77 are not connected correct, the DVD Main chassis and the DVD
mechanism may be damaged.
The cables are connected at the DVD main chassis. See
23.
