THEFT PROTECTION
The theft protection is a 4 digit PIN-code, of the user´s own choice, which must be
entered if the TV has been disconnected from the mains for 30 min.
The theft protection is always deactivated from the factory, it is up to the user to
activate it.
If the theft protection is activated, and the TV has been without mains for 15-30 min.,
the user will be asked to enter the 4 digit PIN-code when the TV is switched on.
Before the TV is handed in to service it is a good idea to ask the customer to
deactivate the theft protection.
Service code
If the PIN-code is activated and the product is in a service situation, there is a
possibility of 12 hours service by entering a 5 digit Service code which is 1 1 1 1 1.
This gives 12 hours of full functionality to service the product and make module
changes without naming/registering the replaced modules to the customer´s product.
The 12 hours are only running when the product is connected to the mains!
If the customer´s PIN-code or Master-code is entered the replaced modules will be
named/registred to the product. Registration of the modules cannot be changed.
The Service code can be entered when the TV has been disconnected from the
mains for 15-30 min.
When the TV is switched on a PINCODE menu appears. Now press
l
(rewind) for
three seconds and a MASTERCODE menu appears, and the Service code 1 1 1 1 1
can be entered, then press
GO
.
Replacing the Main microcomputer PCB6
When replacing the electrical chassis including PCB6 remember to move the
EEPROM 6IC6 from the defective PCB6 to the new PCB6, because it contains
valuable data (Serial no., PIN-code etc.).
The data is not transferred to the new module until you have been in contact with
the theft protection or after 12 hours of connection to the mains. This means that
you can try out a new PCB6 without transferring the products serial no. Etc.
Note !
If you have tried out a new PCB6 and the serial no. has been transferred to the
new PCB6 and it says that the old PCB6 is not defective, the new PCB6 can only
be used for this specifi c product, it must be returned to Bang & Olufsen to be
erased again.
If the product functions are OK the theft protection is also OK. There is no need
for testing the functionality of the theft protection.
Replacing of both PCB6 and EEPROM 6IC6
If both PCB6 and the EEPROM 6IC6 need to be replaced it is necessary to have
them pre-programmed from Bang & Olufsen with the correct serial no., otherwise
they will not work.
Please contact Bang & Olufsen.
