OPERATION OVERVIEW
Safety Precautions Before Operations
The operation of power tools involves a certain amount of hazard for the operator. Before
attempting regular work we recommend you get the feel of operations using scrap lumber to
check settings. Read entire instructions before you start to cut workpiece.
Always
pay attention to safety precautions to avoid personal injury.
The purpose of this overview is to provide the novice machine operator with a basic
understanding of how the machine is used during operation, so the machine controls and
components discussed later in this manual are easier to understand.
Due to the generic nature of this overview, it is not intended to be an instructional guide. To
learn more about specific operations, read this entire manual and seek additional training from
experienced machine operators, and do additional research outside of this manual by reading
"how-to" books, trade magazines, or websites.
To complete a typical operation, the operator will:
Examines the workpiece to make sure it is suitable for cutting.
1.
Adjusts the blade tilt, if necessary, to the correct angle of the desired cut.
2.
Adjusts the blade height to no more than 1/4" higher than the thickness of the workpiece.
3.
Adjusts the fence to the desired width of cut then lock it in place.

Checks the outfeed side of the machine for proper support and to make sure the workpiece

can safely pass all the way through the blade without interference.
Puts on safety glasses and a respirator.
6.
Locates push sticks/blocks if needed.
7.
Starts the saw.
8.
WARNING:
Never operate the saw with any gaurds or covers removed
missing or damaged. It could cause severe injury or death.
CAUTION:
Always wear proper eye protection with side shields or a face
shield, safety footwear, dust mask, and possibly heavy gloves to protect from, chips,
dust, burrs, and slivers.
WARNING:
Check that saw blade clamping system is tight before
operating the machine.
