Installing the bobbin

Insert the bobbin into the bobbin case.

Pass the thread through the thread slit and under the
tension-adjusting spring.

Pull the thread through the opening in the tension-
adjusting spring.

CAUTION
• Be sure to use a bobbin that has been correctly
wound. Otherwise, the thread tension may be
incorrect and the needle may break, causing
injuries.
Note
• Be sure to clean the bobbin case each time that the
bobbin is changed. For details, refer to “Cleaning
the bobbin case” on page 95.
• Be sure to check the tension of the bobbin thread
each time that the bobbin is changed. For detailed
instructions on how to adjust the bobbin tension,
refer to page 83.
Note
• Check that the thread winds off the bobbin
clockwise as shown in the illustration. If the bobbin
is installed with the thread winding off in the
opposite direction, the embroidery will not be
stitched correctly.
