3.2 Thermal Management of the LGD Analyzer Module
Certain applications might require operating the
ambient (A) or heated (H) version of the system in
temperature-stabilized environments or housings, in
order to achieve optimal performance. In this case,
the system is protected by insulation from ambient
temperature changes.
It is important to note that the heated system—with
a maximum measurement cell temperature of
220°C / 428°F—has a surface temperature of
roughly 75°C / 167°F. In this case, the housing also
acts as a radiator and therefore cannot be covered
with insulation material directly. A minimum
distance between the LGD and insulating wall
material needs to be respected.
Do not directly insulate the unit. This
might lead to irreversible system damage.
This distance depends on the cooling provided (e.g. fan(s) or a thermoelectric cooler). The ambient
temperature in the enclosure must remain below 50°C / 122°F. Otherwise the system will overheat and
might be irreversibly damaged. Please refer to our TN LGD Temperature Stabilization and our FAQ
document for further information.
