LGD F200P2 Operating Instructions - Rev D

19.09.2018

39/60

3.7  Change of user parameters

To change the user parameters of the sensor, follow the procedure as given below:

Send

Idle

 (I) command

The sensor enters

Idle

mode and then is able to access the user data in the RAM (see Chapter 3.8.2)

Ping

 (P) user data

With  the

Ping

command  the  sensor  sends  a  ping  packet  with  the  user  parameters  from  the  RAM  (see

Chapter 3.8.3).

Configure (C) user data

The new values now can be sent to the sensor with a

Config

 command (see Chapter 3.8.4).

Save (S)

to EEPROM

To save the new parameters to the EEPROM (to be available after the next sensor startup) please send
the

Save

 command (see Chapter 3.8.5).

Start measurement (M)

Start the

Measurement

again to go back to normal measurement mode (see Chapter 3.8.6).

Important:  It  is  absolutely  necessary  to  write  all  the  user  parameters  in  one  packet.  If  just
one value needs to be changed, ping all values from the sensor. Then overwrite the desired
value and write all the values back to the sensor.

It is not necessary to save the user data to EEPROM. But if they are not saved they will be
lost after a reboot of the system.

The  write  cycles  of  an  EEPROM  are  limited  depending  on  external  conditions.  Under
unfavorable conditions the write cycles might be limited to 10,000 only.

3.8  Commands

  Version

This command is used to obtain the version of the firmware from the sensor. It has a length of 8 bytes and
there are no further parameters that can be added to this command.

Command in ASCII

The response contains the sensor serial number and diverse checksums. The response is 64 bytes long;
inside the packet the data has the following structure (see

 Table 8

).
