72 Avaya Application Solutions IP Telephony Deployment Guide
Service Provider — Blade Server
Avaya’s Hosted IP Telephony offer uses the IBM eServer Blade Center Media Server to
facilitate service provider IP Telephony deployments. The Blade Server supports CM 2.2
running on up to 14 server blades per chassis, or 82 blades per rack.

In a hosted IP Telephony offer, each customer would have its own server blade, each of which is
capable of supporting up to 500 users, 92 trunks, and 500 IP endpoints. In addition, each blade
can support 50 G350 or G700 media gateways, 50 G650 gateways, and 50 LSPs. The blade
server capacities are listed in
Table 15
.
