To verify that you have connected successfully,
type
help
after the
Ready
prompt and press
Enter.
If a list of all available commands does not
appear on the screen, review the steps in this
section, check the cable, or contact service
personnel until the problem is solved.
The Ethernet port IP address must be set by
issuing a command from the serial port.

Connect the Ethernet port to your network
switch.

Obtain appropriate IP addresses, gateways
and subnet masks from your network
administrator. The recommended configuration
is one where DHCP has been disabled.

Issue the
set IPAddress
command. The
default IP address for the Ethernet port is
“
10.0.0.0.
” The example below uses a
hypothetical IP address from an internal
network.
Ready.
set IPAddress 172.17.76.3
Press
Enter
.

After the
Ready
prompt is returned, issue the
set IPSubnetMask
and
set IPGateway
commands. The default subnet mask is
“
255.255.0.0
;” there is no default gateway.

It is best practice to change the default
username and password for world wide web,
Telnet and FTP use. Refer to
Optional
configurations
on page 75.
