Link Mode: Configure SW550XC as a TCP Client
SW550XC Series can be configured as a TCP client in TCP
/
IP network to establish a connection to a TCP server on
a remote host computer
.
depicts an example of two serial card readers connected to two different
SW550XC devices where both SW550XC devices are on the same Ethernet network as the remote host computer
.
The arrow in
indicates the connection request from the client side of TCP connection
.
After the
connection is established, data can be transmitted between a serial device
(
connected to the COM port of SW550X
)
and a remote host computer in both directions
.
This also applies to Virtual COM application running in the client
mode
.

Below is shown an example of configuration setting for TCP Client Link Mode under the COM 1 page

There are
additional connection settings that can be configured

By selecting the TCP Client
Link Mode, a TCP Server program
on a remote host computer should be prepared to accept a connection request from
SW550XC
.
