• IP
When
IP
is selected, both the
IP
and
RS-232/IP Commands
section will be displayed.
1. Under the
IP address
of the display device in the IP address field. Enter the listening port in the
Port [0-65535]
field. Port values from 0 through 65535 are valid.
2.
Enter the command(s), required by the sink device, in each field. Refer to the User Manual of the sink
device for a list of the required commands. In the example, below, the command for power, volume, and
audio muting have been entered. If using hexadecimal codes, precede the value is \x.
3. Click the
Save
button to commit changes or click the
Revert
button to undo changes.
• CEC
This is the default setting for sending commands to the display device. CEC commands are sent to the
display device over the HDMI cable.
Atlona has confirmed proper CEC (Consumer Electronics Control) functionality with several current models of
Samsung, Panasonic, and Sony displays. However, it is not guaranteed that CEC will work with all displays.
Many manufacturers do not support the CEC “off” command, and older displays use proprietary commands.
Atlona only supports displays that use the CEC command structure defined in HDMI 1.2a. It is recommended
that dealers request an evaluation product from Atlona, before designing a system using the CEC protocol. If this
is not possible, then other control methods will need to be considered in order to control displays using Atlona
products.
