Auto Answering
You can set your Deskset to answer calls automatically, without your having to touch the
phone to answer. See
“Automatic Answering” on page 115
. When you enable Auto
Answer,
appears at the top of the Deskset screen if
and
are
not active, since Auto Answer is disabled if they are on.
In Line Appearance mode, you can enable Auto Answer for Intercom (extension to
extension) calls only.
To respond to an Auto Answered call:
In Idle mode, all incoming calls ring for the amount of time specified in the Auto Answer
Delay. See
“Automatic Answering” on page 115
. After the last ring, a two-second
notification screen appears, and you hear a warning tone. Talk after the tone.
If you do not want the Deskset to automatically answer the call, you can press
IGNORE
to send the call to the Call Forward–No Answer target (see
“Call Forward All and Call
Forward–No Answer” on page 113
). In Call Appearance mode, you can press
to
send the call to voicemail immediately.
If there are multiple incoming calls, Auto Answer applies to the first (oldest) incoming
call. Subsequent incoming calls are handled according the Call Forward–No Answer
setting.
Auto Answer does not apply to Ring Group calls. See
“Incoming Call Indication” on
page 34
