TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
NOTE
Due to the low temperature of dry ice most of the parts of the
ASCOJET
(air-
lock, hopper, pellet hose,...) are icing up. Therefore, neither the dry ice nor the
icy parts may be touched without proper protective gear. Any longer physical
contact with the dry ice/the freezed parts without appropriate insulation must be
avoided (e.g. blasting while having placed the hose assembly on your shoulder).
1.9.4 Cleaning objects
NOTE
Small objects should be
fi xed or mounted properly before blasting. Do not leave
loose parts in blasting area.
Some residues tend to pulverise while cleaning. If the maximum work concent-
ration of 6 mg/m
3
(fi ne dust) is exceeded, a mask must be worn.
1.9.5 Blasting precautions
CAUTION
Severe static electrical discharges are possible.
Always provide a good earthing to the
ASCOJET.
DANGER
The nozzle of the gun discharges CO
2
pellets at very high velocities. Never aim
the gun at persons or in directions where personnel works.
CAUTION
At maximal blasting pressure, the nozzle has a reactive thrust of approx. 13 lbs
(6 kg) in the opposite direction of the
airfl ow. In order to anticipate the reactive
thrust, always take a wide stance (feet approx. 23.6'' (60 cm) apart) and lean
into the blasting direction. Always hold the gun safely with both hands
