Follow these steps to convert the rear module (Module 3) of an ICX 7650 device from stacking to uplink mode.
1. (Optional) Enter the show stack command to check for active stack configuration.
ICX7650-48F Router# show stack
T=7m25.5: alone: standalone, D: dynamic cfg, S: static
ID Type Role Mac Address Pri State Comment
1 S ICX7650-48F active 94fd.2e05.1a10 0 local Ready
2 D ICX7650-48P member 00e0.5200.0100 0 remote Ready
active
+---+ +---+
3/3| 2 |3/1--3/1| 1 |3/3

There is no standby. Will assign a standby in 39 sec
Current stack management MAC is 94fd.2e05.1a10
2. On the active controller for the stack, enter the stack unconfigure all command, and enter y when prompted to
remove the stacking configuration from all stack members.
ICX7650-48F Router# stack unconfigure all
Will dismantle the entire stack and recover pre-stacking startup config. Are you sure? (enter 'y' or
'n'):
y Removed "stack enable" from startup-config
All units recover startup-config. Reset others
"stack enable" is removed from runtime config of this unit.
ICX7650-48F Router# Remove stack enable. This unit will not actively participate in stacking.
The example removes the stacking configuration from all stack members.
3. In global configuration mode on each unit, enter the rear-module uplink command with the desired uplink speed.
NOTE
You must enter the write memory command and then reload for the configuration takes effect. This removes
module two from operation as well as ports 1/3/1 and 1/3/4. The following system warning is issued.
ICX7650-48F Router(config)# rear-module uplink-100g
ICX-7650 rear module setting changes requires a reload to take effect!!!
The rear module would operate in uplink mode with 100Gbps speed after reload.
After reload, rear module ports will be configured as uplink ports, and module 2 will be
unused.
Existing configurations for ports in module 2 may be removed.
4. Enter the write memory command to save the configuration.
5. Enter the reload command in privileged EXEC mode to apply the new configuration.
Any configuration is removed from module 2, and it is not in use after the reload. Ports 1/3/1 and 1/3/4 are also unused
after the reload.
