Preventive Maintenance Schedule
The equipment is subjected to wear and tear, and the following maintenance instructions must be acted
upon when specified to ensure that the equipment remains within its original manufacturing
specifications.
NOTE: For information regarding the maintenance schedule for the ceiling lifts that are part of the
Maxi Sky
2 Plus, please refer to the
Maxi Sky 2 Instructions for Use

WARNING
: The points on this checklist are the minimum the manufacturer recommends. In some
cases more frequent inspections should be carried out. Continuing to use this equipment without
conducting regular inspections or when a fault is found will seriously compromise the safety of the
user and the patient. Local regulations and standards may be higher than those of the manufacturer.
A load test must be performed on the entire system every 12 months. Service and preventive
maintenance can be arranged with the Arjo distributor. Preventive maintenance specified in this
manual can prevent accidents and reduce repair costs.
WARNING:
Safety related maintenance and authorized service must be carried out by qualified
personnel, fully trained in servicing procedures by Arjo, and equipped with correct tools and proper
documentation, including the Parts List and Service Manual. Failure to meet these requirements
could result in personal injuries and / or unsafe equipment.
WARNING:
Never proceed to maintenance or service while lift is in use with a patient.
Inspections for the
Maxi Sky 2 Plus Trolley and
System Integration

user inspections
Inspect for evidence of external damage, missing or broken parts.
Verify emergency stop system by pulling on red emergency cord of either one of
the ceiling lifts.

Inspect trolley and the means of attachment/securing of the ceiling lift to the
trolley, making sure there are no loose or missing parts.
Inspect wheels in rail for damage, rust or cracks. Replace if damaged.
Perform Dual to Single Mode and Single to Dual Mode reconfiguration.
Perform a load test with the SWL (safe working load) and perform 360° rotation.
• Dual Mode: 600 lb (272 kg) on driven ceiling lift and 400 lb (182 kg) on
leading ceiling lift.
• Single Mode: 600 lb (272 kg) on leading ceiling lift and 0 lb/kg on driven
ceiling lift.
Inspect ceiling lift pivoting motion.
Ceiling lifts should pivot freely
without noise.
Perform charging system inspection as per
Maxi Sky 2 Maintenance and Repair
manual (001-15697)

Perform system functional test as per
Maxi Sky 2 Plus Initial Startup procedure
