55. Install the alternator adjustment bracket. Tighten
the cap screws to 1.8 kg-m (13 ft-lb).

56. Install the alternator and finger-tighten the pivot
and adjustment cap screws.

57. Install the grooved belt over the crankshaft pulley,
water pump, and alternator. Using a prying tool,
wedge the alternator out to obtain a belt deflection
of 8-9 mm (0.31-0.35 in.) for a new belt or 12-15
mm (0.47-0.59 in.) for a used belt. While holding
the alternator in this position, tighten the pivot cap
screw to 5.1 kg-m (37 ft-lb) and the adjustment
cap screw to 2.2 kg-m (16 ft-lb).
