AM External Mod LOG Calibration
The External LOG mode is calibrated to 10 dB/V Sensitivity with known External signal. Set up equipment as
shown in
.
Test Setup
Frequency = 25 MHz
Power Level = 6 dB below max specified leveled output power (Config and Freq dependent)
Atten mode = Atten Auto
Test Procedure
1.
Turn AM On. Set AM External source and LOG type.
2.
Set AM_REF_DAC to AM_INT.
3.
Set AM_CAL_DAC to AM_CAL_LOG_25M.
4.
Connect waveform generator to the Synth AM Input and Multimeter thru a BNC-Tee.
5.
Set waveform generator output to DC signal.
6.
Adjust waveform generator amp until DC voltage reading on the Multimeter is +0.5 ±0.005V. Record
waveform generator amp as Vpos.
7.
Adjust waveform generator amp until DC voltage reading on the Multimeter is –0.5 ±0.005V. Record
waveform generator amp as Vneg.
8.
Set Center Freq to DUT freq and Span to 0 Hz on Spectrum Analyzer.
9.
Toggle waveform generator amp between Vpos and Vneg.
10.
Adjust AM_SEN_DAC until measured

power is 2*0.5*10 = 10.0 ± 0.04 dB.

Save AM_SEN_DAC value as AM_SEN_LOG_25M. Record the value in

Repeat Cal Procedure at 1 GHz and 4 GHz with corresponding Power Level and DAC name.
