Step 10 Connect Onboard I/O
Onboard Adapters
The Super Voyager LPX motherboard has:
• two serial ports (J23 and J28),
• a parallel port (J40),
• a VGA connector (VGA on the VL-Bus local bus) (J45),
• a VGA Feature Connector (J44),
• an IDE controller on the VL-bus local bus (J4), and
• a floppy controller (J2).
The serial and parallel port connectors are described below. The
IDE connector is described on page 59. The floppy connector is
described on page 57.
Checking for Conflicts
AMIBIOS is designed to minimize conflicts between onboard and
offboard I/O. AMIBIOS automatically checks the adapter cards
installed in the expansion slots on the Super Voyager LPX
motherboard for a hard disk or floppy controller and serial or
parallel ports.
