changing the voltage
The appliance can be switched from 230 Volt to
100 Volt or vice versa. To that end, pull out the
fuse holder
BR
, remove fuses and position the
insert (voltage selector) in such a way that the
desired voltage is visible in the small window.
Afterwards, reinsert the fuse box complete
with fuses.

mounted on the base, lighting up automatically
when the mains switch is switched on.

assembling the jointed arm
The jointed arm is fitted onto the vertical
adjuster
(
; the first step is to fit the height
adjustment onto the vertical adjuster with the aid
of the centring wedge (pointing upwards) and to
tighten it with an Allen key. Then attach the
jointed arm and tighten in place with the locking
screw
&
. For the assembly, it is important for the
jointed arm to be attached parallel and untilted.
The next step is to insert the motor unit
DM
into
the designated holder and fixed at the side with
the Allen screw
*
. The power lead is plugged into
the top side of the spindle column, and the spiral
spring secured.
height adjustment
The height can be adjusted in several places,
primarily however at the spindle column
CQ
. The
first step is to open the lever; the desired height
is then set with the aid of the large plastic screw.
The height can also be changed at the vertical
adjuster
(
. In addition, this provides the option
of moving the jointed arm away to the side and
returning it to the definite position with the aid of
the height fixation ring. Drilling depth can be
roughly set with the graduation at the milling
head; it is set or changed by tightening or
loosening the locking screw. The jointed arm can
be completely locked in place with the locking
screw for the jointed arm fixation
&
. The spring
tension adjuster
BM
is used to create different
counterpressure for free milling and drilling. To
that end, move the plastic part to the side and
adjust the black ribbed part to the top or bottom.
Height for drilling is set with the micrometer
screw
BN
. This can be adjusted over a total range
of 25 mm. One revolution equates to 1 mm. The
graduation is given in tenths of a millimetre.
The milling head is changed by opening the spring
chuck
CQ
. The choice of milling head depends on
the nature of the milling and the construction.
It is important that the motor is switched off. A
2.35 mm diameter spring chuck is fitted as
standard. To change the spring chuck, open the
spring and unscrew it manually using a chuck key.
Screw the new spring chuck in to the stop. Insert
the milling head or mandrel into the chuck and
close. Then set the main switch at the back
BP
to
ON and check all functions of the AF350.
The drilling lever
BQ
is only plugged on and can be
pulled off to the side when not in use. By
switching between clockwise/ anticlockwise
rotation of the motor
$
, the milling head can be
used for smoothing the object by reversing the
motor direction of the original cut. Any blockage
during the switch of direction causes the
appliance to switch off automatically. The motor
restarts when using the On/Off switch;
