ATO
On-line data mode (Originate)
This command switches the modem from the on-line command mode to the on-line data
mode. When the modem is in the off-line command mode, an ERROR message follows.
With the parameter “1”, a “retrain” is executed before the modem switches back to the
on-line data mode.
ATP
Pulse dialling
This command forces pulse dialling as a default. When another dialling method
(e.g., ATDT) is selected in the telephone number, the next calls will use tone dialling.

ATQ
Quiet result codes
This command determines whether the result codes are sent to the terminal or not.
0 -
Enables result codes (default).
1 -
Disable result codes.
AT%Q
Quality of line signal
During a connection, this command checks the quality of the line. Values between 000
and 016 correspond with a good line quality. Values over 016 indicate a poor quality. The
line is monitored continuously when the modem is on-line. When the value gets as low
as 016, and the command AT%E1 has been activated, a ‘retrain’ will take place.
AT&Q
Synchronous/asynchronous mode
This command is an extension of the &M command and it is used together with the
registers S36 and S48 to check the approved connection modes.

The modem tries to build up an error corrected connection.
With the help of register S36, the modem can be configurated in such a way
that, in case of an error, the modem is switched off-line or that it falls back to
a normal asynchronous connection (default)

This command is maintained for compatibility reasons.
AT&R
RTS/CTS control
This command controls CTS in the on-line synchronous mode.
The working of CTS is adjusted when a hardware flow control is selected.

In synchronous mode, CTS is always on. In the asynchronous mode, CTS is
on, unless the hardware flow control has been selected (default)
