14. iOS Apps for Wireless Control
Two Qu apps are available from the Apple Store:
Qu-Pad - Engineer’s live mixing control
Qu-You - Musician’s personal monitor control
Qu-Control – Customisable app for install
You can connect up to two iPads running Qu-Pad and up to 8 iPhones, iPads, iPod Touch or Android
devices running Qu-You or Qu-Control. The maximum total number of connected devices is 8.
Refer to the Qu-Pad, Qu-You and Qu-Control Help Manuals for details on their
operation and setup.
Qu-Pad
is an engineer's mixing tool giving you the freedom to
walk the room or stage and control the sound right where it is
needed. Since V1.9, Qu-Pad gives you control of the live mix and
full system setup. Qu-Pad and the Qu console can work together
to provide simultaneous control of independent functions, for
example one engineer using the console to mix front-of-house
sound, and another using the iPad to mix monitors on stage.
Qu-Pad runs on all models of iPad running iOS7.1 or higher. The
current version tested at the time of this release is iOS9.
Qu-You
provides personal monitor mix control for
musicians and performers on stage. The engineer can
still keep an eye on and control each mix at the Qu
mixer at any time.
Qu-You runs on Apple iOS devices including iPhone4
or later, iPad, iPad Mini or iPod Touch running iOS7 or
later. A version is also available for Android devices.
Qu-Control
is a customisable app with up to five
screen tabs and up to 15 control ‘widgets’ per tab.
These can be anything from background music
source selection to a master zone level or microphone
paging. A password for Qu-Control users can be set at
the mixer.
Qu-Control runs on Apple iOS devices including
iPhone4 or later, iPad, iPad Mini or iPod Touch
running iOS8 or later.
Using the Qu-Pad, Qu-Control or Qu-You app
Qu Mixer Requirements - The Qu mixer firmware and app feature release version
number must be the same, for example V1.7 firmware will not run with a V1.8 app.
However, the maintenance version numbers do not need to be identical, for example Qu-
Pad V1.90 would run with Qu mixer V1.91. Refer to the Allen & Heath web site for more
information and to download the latest Qu mixer firmware.
Set up the wireless network – Connect and configure a suitable wireless router as
described below. Connect the device to this network.
Start the app and log in to the Qu mixer – The app opens in its Login page. You
should see your Qu mixer in the list if it is recognised on the wireless network. Select this
and touch Connect. Enter the password if one has been set for Qu-You users at the
mixer.
