Setting Up Email Alerts and Protocol Alerts
Set up the email settings for outgoing email alerts
The system can send automatic email alerts to individual user accounts, as determined by the
user account settings (see
“Edit user accounts” on page 24). To use these alerts, you must set up
the sender information for emails sent by the system.
1 From the Home screen, press Settings .
The Settings screen opens.
2 Press Connectivity Settings .
The Connectivity Settings screen opens.
3 Press Email Alert Settings .
The Email Alert Settings screen opens.
4 Press Mail Server Info to expand the settings for the email server. Enter the requested
information into the fields shown on the screen.

• Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) : Enter the host name of the SMTP (Simple Mail Transfer
Protocol)
• Port : Enter the port number for SMTP
• Use Secure Sockets Layer (SSL) : Mark the check box if the outgoing mail server supports
SSL encryption
If you do not know the outgoing mail server and/or port, or do not know if the server supports
SSL encryption, ask your network administrator. For public email servers, you can often look up
the SMTP address using an internet search.
5 Press Mail Server Info again to collapse the email server settings. Do not press Apply at this
time.
6 Press Sender Info to expand the settings for the outgoing email account. Enter the requested
information into the fields shown on the screen.
