The scope always performs measurements on the pulse located closest to
center- screen. In this case, the scope measures the positive pulse width of
the 1st pulse in this digital burst as shown in
. But what if we
want to know the widths of the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, etc., pulses?

Press the
button in the Horizontal section of the front panel to turn
on the scope’s “zoom” display mode.

Set the Zoom timebase to
50.00 ns/div
by turning the large timebase
knob.

Set the horizontal position/delay to
950.0 ns
in order to window- in on
the 3rd pulse.
When the “zoom” display is turned on, the horizontal controls (s/div and
position) control the zoomed (or expanded) timebase settings.
