Backup System Specific Files to a Network or a CD RW Drive
1. On your Windows desktop, open Windows Explorer.
2. Locate the above directories.
3. Copy the directories from their current location and paste them to a CD RW Drive or
a network location.
4. Repeat until all of the directories have been copied.
5. Close Windows Explorer.
Change the BIOS Settings
Setup the 1.0 GHz IPC Controller BIOS Configurations
Note:
Table 1 (BIOS Settings for a 1.0 GHz IPC Controller)
documents the appropriate BIOS settings to run Windows XP
Professional on a 1.0 Ghz IPC Controller.

1. Power on the system controller
2. On boot up, at the initial startup screen, press the <DEL> key to Enter Set Up. This
will enter you into “CMOS Setup Utility.” (This happens very quickly after the
system is turned on. If this step is missed, shutdown the system and try again.)
Check and Change the Multiprocessor (MP) BIOS Setting
3. Once in the “CMOS Setup Utility” select “Advanced BIOS Features” and press
<ENTER>
4. In the “Advanced BIOS Features,” click on the selection for “MPS Version Control
for OS.”
5. For XP, MPS should be set at 1.4. Hit <ENTER> and select
1.4
6. Press <F10>. Select
Yes
and press <ENTER> to Save to CMOS and Exit. This will
save the configuration changes and exit.
