7. Select “Adaptec Ultra320 SCSI Cards (WinXP/Server 2003 IA-32)” and press
<ENTER>.
8. At Windows Setup, press <ENTER> to indicate that you do not have any more
support disks and/or do not want to specify additional mass storage devices and
continue with the Windows XP installation.
9. Setup will continue loading a series of Windows XP drivers.
10. Setup will start Windows XP.
11. Press <ENTER> to Set Up Windows XP now.
12. The License Agreement for Windows XP will be brought up. Read the agreement
thoroughly and, if you agree to it, press <F8>.
13. Setup may ask you if one of the following Window XP installations is damaged.
Press <ESC> for “don’t repair” to continue.
Partitioning the Hard Drive
14. Setup will list all existing partitioned and unpartitioned space. To continue with
Windows XP setup you must delete all partitions. Press <D> to delete partitions.
15. Setup will now confirm you are deleting a system partition. Press <ENTER> to
continue and delete this partition.
16. Setup will now confirm again. Press <L> to delete this partition.
17. Continue the procedure to delete all partitioned space.
18. Press <ENTER> to setup Windows on the large block of unpartitioned space on the
drive.
19. Select “Format the partitions using NTFS file System.” Press <ENTER> to
continue.
20. You will be asked to wait while Setup formats the partition and then again while
Setup copies files to the Windows installation folders.
Windows XP Professional Installation
21. Windows XP will automatically restart the system. Immediately after the reboot
begins (or when windows setup requests that any media in drive A: be removed)
eject the
Agilent Technologies IPC 2.8 Ghz Install Supplement
floppy. Leave the
installation CD in the drive, but this time don’t press any key to boot from the CD
when prompted. Let the system boot from the hard drive this time. This will begin
the Windows XP Professional installation. Do not leave during the install process
until you receive several prompts (typically steps 22-31) requesting information or
actions.
