To Operate the AE 3TL Inverter for the First Time
1. Verify that the AC, DC, and ground connections are correctly and securely
installed.
2. Verify that the connection box cover is secure.
3. Close the AC system circuit breakers or insert the external main fuse.
4. Turn the DC disconnect to the ON position.
If the solar modules are receiving sufficient sunlight and no fault exists, the
following sequence will occur:
◦ Self test: All status LEDs light up indicating system initialization during
which the PV array is checked for wire insulation integrity. If the wire
insulation is damaged, the inverter will not start and displays a fault. Before
clearing the fault and restarting the inverter, check all PV wiring for nicks,
pinches, and breaks. On first time startup, this process may take as long as an
hour.
◦ Initialization: Status LED Ready flashes. The display is lit with the following
information:
F1 F2
ESC
READY ON ALARM EARTH FLT
PAC 0 W
UAC 0.0 V
UDC 0 V
y day 0.0 kWh

F1 - Menu
5. Verify that the initialization procedure is complete by checking the following:
◦ ON LED is continuously lit.
◦ The display begins providing data.
The inverter electronics, the control panel, display, and operating buttons are
active when DC voltage is applied since they are supplied exclusively from the
DC input.
