UTILITIES MENU
The Express L768/L1.5 has utilities embedded in it to help in managing and testing
the network and to facilitate software upgrades. Figure 3-14 shows the Utilities
menu.

Utilities/Ping
Write security: 4; Read security: 5
The ping menu is used to send ICMP ping messages to hosts. The following
items are under this menu:
Start/Stop
- Activator to start and cancel a ping test.
Host Address
- IP address or domain name (if DNS is configured)
of device to receive the ping
Size
- Total size of ping to send. Range is 40 (def) to 1500 bytes.
# of Packets
- Total packets to send every two seconds
# of Transmits
- Total packets sent (read only)
# of Receives
- Total packets received (read only)
% Loss
- Percentage loss based on ping returned form host (read only)
