GadgetGateway Firmware Upgrade
6.5Current Firmware Features and
Updates
installed, the 2.30b1 firmware can be loaded in the same manner as previous firmware
upgrades (documented in the GadgetGateway manual).
For information on how to upgrade your GadgetGateway bootloader from version 2.00 -
2.25 to version 2.30 and above, see the documentation included with the migration tool.
The firmware version of your current GadgetGateway is listed in both the Web and serial
interface. Critical Note: Version 2.00B9 and later will only function
if the new version (1 or above) of the Prom (U13 on the Circuit Board)is used. If you
would like to receive a new prom so you can run Version 2.00B9 or later please contact
Adept Systems.
Changes Present in Firmware version 2.30 from version 2.25
-------------------------
*Several additions to the configuration webpages were made.
*The ability to retrieve the names of the devices in the 852 channel membership list has
been added.
*Compatibility for the Coactive LL Config Server router is fixed.
*Storage of persistent data was moved from EEPROM to Flash to allow for more storage.
Because of this, saving is slower and as a result automatic saving of changes in the serial
menu has been removed in favor of user initiated saves. Now when changes are made in
the serial menu the user has to explicitly save the changes by selecting the "Save Configu-
ration to Flash" option that is available from the GadgetGateway Main Menu screen.
*The Underlying operating system of the GadgetGateway has been upgraded from
Net+OSV4.0 to Net+OSV5.0
***Important Note when upgrading to Version 2.30 or later ***
upgrading from any version 2.00 - 2.25 requires the GadgetGateway's bootloader to be
upgraded. This is done using version 2 of the migration tool.
Changes Present in Firmware version 2.25 from version 2.24
-------------------------
*Fixed an bug that sometimes caused 709.1 messages intended for the Gateway to become
corrupt or lost when a message for the Gateway was received from the opposite side of the
original message.
*Added basic redundancy support so two gateways can be set up as redundant routers for
added stability.
***Important Note when upgrading to Version 2.25 or later ***
Included with the .zip file is a .txt file with special Instructions that are necessary when
upgrading to version 2.25 and later. Please read this file (SpecialInstructions.txt) and fol-
low the instructions carefully.
