2.2System Requirements

be more efficient. The disadvantage of multi-cast is that some internet routers do not sup-
port it. The following figures illustrate the differences between multi-cast and uni-cast.
2.2 System Requirements
To use the GadgetGateway, you will need any one of the following systems to communi-
cate with the Gateway:
•
An additional GadgetGateway,
•
An Echelon i.LON
TM
,
•
A Coactive Router-LL, or
•
Any 852-compliant node (this can be a computer running LonMaker
TM
or other
LNS VNI based tool).
Note:
The GadgetGateway and Router-LL can interoperate in either Manual mode or with
the Router-LL configuration server.
