DuraStor 6220SS/7220SS Installation and User’s Guide

Mounting the RAID Appliance on the Rack

The RAID appliance can be installed into any standard 19-inch 
rack.

Installation tips

: It will be helpful to have someone assist you. 

Also, make sure that the mounting hardware is easily accessible 
before you begin the installation.

Note: 

If you are not installing your RAID appliance into a 

rack cabinet, skip to

Select a location within your rack.

If you are installing the DuraStor 6220SS/7220SS, consider the 
placement of the DuraStor storage subsystem in relation to 
where the DuraStor 312R storage enclosure will be installed later 
and ensure that there will be adequate airflow for the front-to-
side and side-to-side areas.

Place the RAID appliance in the desired position in the rack.

Secure the left and right front chassis ears to the rack’s front 
vertical members using the supplied screws and nuts. See 

Figure 3-3

.
