Control panel button function overview
The following table list and describe the function of the control
buttons available on the control panel.
Control button
Function
NMI button
Puts the server in a halt-state for diagnostic purposes
and allows you to issue a non-maskable interrupt.
After using the interrupt, a memory download can be
performed to determine the cause of the problem.
Reset button
Reboots and initializes the system.
Power/sleep button
Toggles the system power on and off. This button also
functions as a sleep button if enabled by an ACPI-
compliant operating system.
System ID button
Toggles the front panel ID LED and the mainboard
system ID LED on and off. The mainboard system ID
LED is visible through the rear of the chassis and
allows you to locate the server you’re working on
from behind a rack of servers.
Scroll up button
With an LCD control panel, use these navigation
buttons to do the following.
• Navigate through the menu options.
• Select an option in the menu and confirm your
selection.
